wisdom of crowds istanbulKatatonia vokalisti Jonas Renkse (nam-ı diğer Lord Seth) ve The Pineapple Thief  gitaristi Bruce Soords’dan bahsediyorum tabii ki.

Blessed By a Broken Heart – Forever

Something for you guys to check out: Blessed By a Broken Heart

Very interesting band.  Another bunch who are mixing genres/styles on albums and even mid-song. It’s actually a really smart and interesting trend that the Lady wants to focus here. With this kind of act, by hitting a bunch of genres at once, they hit a wider target audience with their music appealing to more tastes.  Not every body is going to like every part of every song, but they definitely can hook people in with different bits.

Blaze Bayley – Stare at the Sun

How does one recover from an overly negative tenure in a world famous band, after being replaced by the very person you were trying to replace?  Could be the end of a career, at least one of any particular interest.  One could wallow away in the opinion of others and never look forward.  Blaze Bayley?  How about release an album that leaves fans wondering why Iron Maiden failed to win them over with him?

Circus Maximus – Wither

Hey lovelies!

Good news! Norwegian prog-metal band Circus Maximus announced the title of their new album at last – as you know, the fans have been impatiently waiting for a long while now (hi Ytse).

Their third studio album is to be called “Nine” and according to their announcement, the release date is 1st June 2012.

The thing is, these guys started off as the cover band of the prog-scene and thank god they decided to create original stuff preventing a great loss for the prog-heads. Not surprisingly, they rose and the tightness of their musicianship earned them a spot among prominent prog bands. They are very good at odd time signatures which is a defining point for me.

Negură Bunget – Cunoasterea Tăcută and Hora Soarelui

OM is an astounding atmospheric black metal album from the Romanian band Negură Bunget   It’s a relentless beauty, from start to finish it hits you hard, blows you away, and keeps you absorbed all the while.   I love the way they sing in their native tongue and mix in local styles.  This leads to some classification as being folk, but it’s really just great atmosphere creation if you ask me.   If you don’t mind black metal and want to venture into atmospheric metal for something different this is a great place to test the waters.
