Dischordia

Today, I have news for the Death-metal fans!

It is about Dischordia and for those not in the know, from their one sheet bio:

Drawing inspiration from such forward-thinking metal heavyweights as Decapitated, Meshuggah, and The Dillinger Escape Plan, Oklahoma City’s Dischordia brings a fresh perspective to the scene by combining tried-and-true US death metal brutality with far-flung ideas from a multitude of global influences. The band’s music-first ethos has been forged through years of stylistic refinement and questing for a sound to call their own.

October of 2011 saw the release of Dischordia’s debut EP, Creator, Destroyer, with which the band has made a noticeable impact. “We’re very happy with the results of our work at Intellect Studios,” comments vocalist Josh Turner. “The finished product is heavy, technical, brutal, and epic.”

Having recently shared the stage with such acts as Dying Fetus, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Born of Osiris, Darkest Hour, The Human Abstract, As Blood Runs Black, and more, Dischordia have kicked their live performances into even higher gear in support of the EP and are spreading their influence throughout the rest of the USA.

Now, they are announcing their future plans, including gigs, management deals and recording plans. Here is their press release:

Just recently returned from their multi-state independently-booked ‘Waystation Tour’, Oklahoma City death metal crushers Dischordia have some significant news to announce. […]

First, the band will be playing the opening slot for the upcoming “Former Metal Blade Recording Artists Unite” show in Hollywood, CA on July 11th, at the [Whisky A Go Go]. The gig is presented by Metal Blade Records and ESP Guitars, and features the reunited lineups of Malice, Heretic, Steelgrave, and Hollowshell.

In addition, Dischordia are proud to announce that they have signed on with Pamela Trepanier’s Metalution Management. Trepanier’s longtime friendship and advisory role to multiple bands within the metal industry encouraged her to start her own management firm in 2009. She uses her skills and resources to help young bands like Dischordia to tackle the many hurdles they face in today’s music scene.

This signing sees the band heading directly into the studio with Raymond Herrera (Arkaea, ex-Fear Factory) and producer Jeremy Blair at [AM Productions] to record a debut full-length, to follow Dischordia’s 2011 EP debut, Creator, Destroyer. Blair has worked with multiple industry heavyweights, such as DevilDriver, Coal Chamber, Guns N Roses, Danzig, Zack Wylde (Black Label Society), and Bill Ward (Black Sabbath).

“The WaystationTour could not have gone better,” comments guitarist Keeno. “The response was absolutely amazing and it has opened doors to many exciting opportunities. I think it’s every band’s dream to fly out to LA and record a debut album. Our dream is that much sweeter with Raymond Herrera onboard with us.”
