Bio: TOOH started off as a solo project of Will Geraldo (from Violent Attitude If Noticed) who later invited Silvério Simioni to join in. After writing enough material for an album, a few friends who happened to be some of the best musicians in the country were invited to help with the recordings. They were: Kassio Todescatt, Marcinho Pereira, Marcelo Vanini, Fabio Souza, Erich Bruschini, Erik Müller and Anna Stefano.
The curiosity behind the make of this album is that each song had a different line-up and was recorded in many studios as musicians are spread across the country which happens to be Brazil, by the way.
Genre: When we look to everything we listen to it’s inevitable not to associate with the music we do so it’s natural to apply the label ‘prog’ to the stuff we write. Now, to say what line of prog we do is the difficult part. Metal ? Post ? Neo ? All of it ? Your call.
Evolution of the initial musical and thematic elements: From a perspective of writing non-conventional music. At least that’s how we see it. Many influences put together can confuse but we worked out this confusion to make something more creative.
Lyrics, themes and concepts: Lyrics are written upon the idea of us being multidimensional. I was always keen on the idea of accessing other levels of consciousness based on out of body experiences and I love to talk about this subject.
Ideas about the album: Pretty happy. The debut album which was released a few months earlier is doing pretty well.
Reception: So far we have only heard good things about it.
Preference; live or studio:
Next step; live or studio: It comes down to the everlasting issue: money. Putting the band together to perform would mean quite some money to travel. We are working on it and we might have some new on that front until the end of this year.
Future plans: It’s looking good. Some songs are already written for a new album and live performances are likely to start soon.
Composers: Songs are written mainly between myself and Silvério. Lyrics are mine.
Inspirations: Gentle Giant, King Crimson, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Genesis, Yes and so on…
Preference; cater to the audience or music for its own sake: Music for it’s own sake. Always.
Greatest Accomplishment: Being able to write music that can touch others.
Anything else? Give us a try.
